How to attract genuine interest in your business

By Colin Gordon

If you're like me you would want to know…

What's in it for me?

How does it work?

Can I trust the author?

You may find yourself LEANING IN; your attention has been captured and something has resonated with you. This just may be a sign that you’re onto something that may answer your need, whatever that may be. You may be thinking ‘This is Different’ or you may have lost interest and moved on. Whatever the case, you need to capture your reader’s attention. If you’re not raising eyebrows and your visitors are ‘bouncing’ off your page never to return that’s a sure sign that your content is either boring, irrelevant or both.

Do you roll your eyes at jargon, trendy buzz words or fancy metaphores? This is where you feel you’re being SOLD something. When creating content we all need a point of difference and a valuable offer and this can’t be disguised by saying you’re Super excited, Super proud, or are about to do a DEEP DIVE, then CIRCLE BACK to REACH OUT.

Blueprint for success

What ever it is that you want to achieve, there is a blueprint for it, someone has done it before you and the solution awaits. Sometimes it takes a leap of faith and other times the sign-up is just a ‘no brainer’. Either way, you must like and trust the person you plan to do business with.

Building trust and rapport takes time, it also requires sincerity, empathy and an awareness of how to connect with the people who take the time to listen to you.

We all have unique skills and expertise that we often undervalue and making the effort to provide value to those who are interested is a duty all business owners should embrace if they expect a return on investment from their website.
Owning a website opens the door to a world of opportunities to build your business, but part of the problem in promoting ourselves is getting the mix right between understanding needs, and positioning ourselves as a voice of authority in our chosen field.

Getting noticed these days can be difficult if you’re just starting out. Paid advertising can be a financial black hole if you’re not sure how to set up and run your campaigns, and pushing too hard to get sales on Facebook turns people off, as well as turning the almighty Facebook algorithm against you.,
